Vacation to Vegas

Our trip to Vegas was pretty fun. Though the heat could kill a person, we soon realized riding our bikes down the strip was the far better alternative! People looked at us a little strange, but man, they had to have been secretly jealous! My favorite thing was the lions. The lions in these pictures were two one-year-old lions (the boy just has his mane coming in). I of course also liked the m&m shop where we tried several different m&m flavors. Who would have thought there were flavors? well, needless to say....that was heaven:) Unfortunately because of the wind we were unable to see any fountain shows or pirate shows. I guess you can always just watch them on U-tube anyway. Here are some random pictures through Vegas. We also spent our evening with Craig's friend which was a fun.

Easter

I know I am a little behind, but I guess late is better than never! These are some pics from our first Easter together. It was pretty fun, Craig had no idea the Easter Bunny was planning a visit to our house (he even brought Craig a hot pink luffa)! He got a fun little egg hunt and everything.

Heidi's first ride

Yeah that's right, I am ready for it.
Lookin' cool on my new bike.
Check out those mountains.

Rest break in a meadow.

About 2 weeks ago we bought Heidi a new mountain bike. Its a Giant Boulder SE. We have taken it out on a few paved trails but today we went on Heidi's first real mountain biking trip. We rode Big Hollow Spring trail(http://utahmountainbiking.com/trails/bigsprng.htm), one of my favorites. It was a great ride and Heidi did very well for her first ride. Here are a few pictures of the great scenery on today's trail.

Gingerbread House

Here is our gingerbread house that is now sitting in a bowl in pieces on the table--good thing Craig likes hard candy!

Our Apartment

Well we are finally getting settled. So I thought I would post a few pictures of the apartment. We are still in the middle of decorating the walls, but we have finally got all of our basic furniture. We are especially proud of how economically we were able to furnish the apartment. bed $400, table set $3o, desk $50, couch free, tv free, tv stand $10, and night stands $4. It all is really good stuff too. Just today we installed a new ceiling fan, so we are feeling especially cool now. :) Yep we are doing pretty well. Please see our picture album for a photo tour. Our Garden

Yes I know it's sad, but this is our little garden this summer. We decided that real people have gardens, so we wanted one(Actually Craig just wanted one). So we went to the friendly neighborhood lowes store and bought a tomato and a yellow pepper plant. Our little garden has been doing well. It is in the stairwell of our apartment near our door. We hope no one will steal it since we live in mormon land. Craig waters it everyday and refertilizes it every 2 weeks. We love our little garden.

First Post

Well this is our first blog post. We are the Marshall family. We are just poor college students at BYU in Utah. After viewing my sister's blogs I decided that this would be a nice way to keep everyone in both of our families posted on how we are doing. It has been a great summer for us. We got married at the beginning of the summer in the North Carolina Temple. It was a wonderful wedding and reception. Then we spent our honeymoon at Topsail Beach NC. We got really lucky because my aunt offered to let us stay in her beach condo for free. It was right on the water. We had a great time to say the least. Now we are back in Utah for the summer just working and going to classes. Heidi has an internship in Springville and seems to really enjoy it. Now we are just enjoying married life and our summer. Pictures of the wedding and honeymoon are posted on our picture page at www.picasaweb.google.com/craig.l.marshall
